The stock market ended June, as well as the second quarter of 2020, with increases yesterday and today.  The gains more than compensated for the significant loss on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.85% to 25,812.88, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.54% to 3,100.29.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.87% to 10,058.77.

After a substantial plunge on Friday, the stock market had a nice rebound today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.32% to 25,595.80, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.47% to 3,043.24.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.20% to 9,874.15.

The stock market began the day low and continued plummeting way down the rest of the day.  This probably was due to reports of another surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 2.84% to 2,5015.55, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 2.42% to 3,009.05.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 2.59% to 9,757.22.

After a big downturn yesterday, the stock market rebounded somewhat today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 1.18% to 25,745.60, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.10% to 3,083.76.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.09% to 10,017.00, a record high close.

There was a significant plunge in the stock market today, which began down and closed even lower.  This seems to be due to a notable increase of COVID-19 cases in several states.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 2.72% to 25,445.94, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 2.59% to 3,050.33.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 2.19% to 9,909.17.

The stock market was up again today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.50% to 26,156.10, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 0.43% to 3,131.29.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.74% to 10,131.37, a record high close.

After a general decline in the market on the last couple of days last week, there was a mild rebound today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.59% to 26,024.96, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 0.65% to 3,117.86.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.11% to 10,056.48, a record high close.

Most stock indices were down somewhat today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 0.80% to 25,871.46, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.56% to 3,097.74.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.03% to 9,946.12.

Today, the stock indices began down and ended the trading session mixed.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 0.15% to 26,080.10, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 0.06% to 3,115.34.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.33% to 9,943.05.

There was an appreciable increase in stock market indices today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.04% to 26,289.98, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.90% to 3,124.74.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.75% to 9,895.87.

The stock market was way down this morning, but it rebounded later in the day.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.62% to 25,763.16, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 0.83% to 3,066.59.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.43% to 9,726.02.

After a significant stock market plunge yesterday, there was a moderate rebound today.  This followed numerous “zigs” and “zags” all day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 1.90% to 25,605.54, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.31% to 3,041.31.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.01% to 9,588.81.

The Dow declined 1,861.82 points today.  It was the 4th largest one-day decrease in history.  Evidently, this was due to fears of the secondary COVID outbreak and the possibility of continued spiking.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 6.90% to 25,128.17, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 5.89% to 3,002.10.  The NASDAQ Composite index, reaching an all-time high yesterday, was down 5.27% to 9,492.72.  Also, world markets were down significantly.

Stock market indices were mixed today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 1.04% to 26,989.99, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.53% to 3,190.14.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.67% to 10,020.65, a record high close.

Most of the stock market indices were down during the day.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 1.09% to 27,272.30, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.78% to 3,207.18.  However, the NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.29% to 9,953.75.

The National Bureau of Economic Research announced today that the U.S. has been in a recession since February.  However, this was not a deterrent to the stock market, which is continuing to go up so far in June.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 1.70% to 27,572.44, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.20% to 3,232.39.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.13% to 9,924.75.

The huge, noteworthy and unexpected increase in jobs and decrease in the jobless rate resulted in a significant rally in the stock market.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 3.15% to 27,110.98, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 2.62% to 3,193.93.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 2.06% to 9,814.08.

Although the Dow was up a bit today, everything else was slightly down.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.05% to 26,281.82, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.34% to 3,112.35.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 0.69% to 9,615.81.

As crazy as things continue to be with COVID-19 infections and all the rioting and looting, the stock market seems to be ignoring that this week.  Stock indices were way up today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.05% to 26,269.89, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.36% to 3,122.87.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.78% to 9,682.91.

Wall Street seemed to be rooting for a SpaceX launch, with a significant surge at the end of the trading period.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.21% to 25,548.27, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.48% to 3,036.13.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.77% to 9,412.36.

Most stock marked indices soared up today.  It was the first time that traders were allowed on the New York Stock Exchange floor again after about 2 months of being closed.  Also, there were hopes for a COVID-19 vaccine and the economy’s reopening.

News about a COVID-19 vaccine and a possible economic recovery this summer had a positive effect on the stock market today.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) today was up 3.85% to 24,597.37, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 3.15% to 2,953.91.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 2.44% to 9,234.83.

After moderate losses in the stock market today, the major indices had mild gains by closing time.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.25% to 23,685.42, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 0.39% to 2,863.70.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.79% to 9,014.56.

Today, the Dow and other stock indices had big “zag-zig” swings.  At one point, the Dow was down -458.35 points compared to yesterday’s close.  However, with a subsequent large increase of 835.72 points, it closed up 377.37 points.  It is the first time the Dow has closed with a gain this week.

Today’s warning of a prolonged recession from Jerome Powell appears to have caused a notable plunge in the stock market.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 2.17% to 23,247.97, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 1.75% to 2,820.00.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 1.55% to 8,863.17.

Although the Dow and other stock indices were up at the beginning of the day, they had fallen significantly by the end of the day.  One cause seems to have been the concern of a potential second wave of the COVID-19 virus.

Although the stock market had a good overall month of April, it did not have a good beginning for the month of May.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 2.55% to 23,723.69, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 2.81% to 2,830.71.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 3.20% to 8,604.95.

Bleak news about the unemployment rate and the COVID pandemic contributed to the moderate downturn in the final April session of the stock market.  However, the Dow and the S&P 500 did have their best monthly gains since 1987.

Evidently, the Fed’s continued low interest rates and Jerome Powell’s positive long-term outlook have given some hope to consumers.  This arguably was a major reason for the big stock market rally today.

There was a notable “zig zag” in the stock market today.  Soon after opening, the Dow zigged up 378.46 points to its intra-day high of 24,512.24.  However, it had zagged down -32.23 points by the day’s close.

This morning, all the stock market indices were up at the opening.  At its intra-day high, the Dow was up 1.74% or 409.54 points.

The indices were up significantly for most of the morning and early afternoon.  However, at the close, the Dow was up only a bit from yesterday’s closing value, while other indices were down fractional amounts.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 0.17% to 23,515.26, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.05% to 2,797.80.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 0.01% to 8,494.75.

U.S. stocks plunged again today.  After yesterday’s unprecedented drop into negative territory, though, crude oil futures started clawing their way back up today.  However, OPEC leaders now may be in “crisis mode.”

The stock market was extremely volatile today, zigging and zagging all day long.  Finally, the Dow ended the day with a mild increase.

After the stock market’s big “zig” yesterday, there was a big “zag” today.  This seems to be following the usual volatile pattern.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 1.86% to 23,504.35, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 2.20% to 2,783.36.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 1.44% to 8,393.18.

The Dow’s increase today more than compensated for yesterday’s decline.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.39% to 23,949.76, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 3.06% to 2,846.06.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 3.95% to 8,515.74.

The Dow had a moderate decline today.  This was after the S&P 500 had its best week since 1974.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 1.39% to 23,390.77, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 1.01% to 2,761.63.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.48% to 8,192.43.

Today, the Dow exited the Bear Market and re-entered the Bull Market.  Hopefully, it eventually will exit correction territory.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 1.22% to 23,719.37, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 1.45% to 2,789.82.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 0.77% to 8,153.58.

There were significant gains in the stock market today.  Had the Dow gone up just 207.57 more points today, it would have been out of Bear Market territory and back into a Bull Market, although it still would need an additional gain of 2,955.14 points to be out of correction territory.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 3.44% to 23,433.57, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 3.41% to 2,749.98.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 2.58% to 8,090.90.

Early this morning, the Dow was up as much as 937.25 points to an intra-day high of 23,617.24.  Later, though, it “zigged” and “zagged” quite a bit.  At the final bell, it was 26.13 points below yesterday’s closing amount.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 0.12% to 22,653.86, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 0.16% to 2,659.41.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 0.33% to 7,887.26.

Today, there were substantial gains in the stock market.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 7.73% to 22,679.99, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 7.03% to 2,663.68.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 7.33% to 7,913.24.

Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 1.69% to 21,052.53, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 1.51% to 2,488.65.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 1.53% to 7,373.08.

Following yesterday’s significant “zag” (loss) in the stock market, today’s “zig” (gain) made up almost half of that loss.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up 2.24% to 21,413.44, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was up 2.28% to 2,526.90.  The NASDAQ Composite index was up 1.72% to 7,487.31.

The stock market has begun the second quarter of 2020 with a significant decline.  This is after ending the first quarter yesterday with a loss of almost all of its gains since the beginning of 2017.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down 4.44% to 20,943.51, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index was down 4.41% to 2,470.50.  The NASDAQ Composite index was down 4.41% to 7,360.58.  Also, world markets were down substantially.
