Eye Advice and Information
I obtained my education to practice eye care in the 1970s. Early in 1991, I left the practice of eye care to pursue other interests. Therefore, if you wish to know specific information about the eye, vision, diseases, visual therapy, visual science, or advanced ocular technology that cannot be found at my website, it would be a good idea for you to investigate other resources on the web for that information. There are many places to search.
If you are seeking advice or information concerning an ocular or optical condition or its treatment, I strongly recommend that you (or your relative or friend) see a qualified eye care practitioner in your area. That doctor can perform critical tests and ascertain important firsthand information, for the purpose of determining and treating your eye or visual condition. Obviously, I will not be able to do that myself.
Also, it is of no value for me to try to interpret and comment on the findings of other eye doctors. If I have not examined someone in person (which I no longer choose to do), I will have no opinion about the findings of another doctor or doctors. Therefore, there is no point in sending me such information. If you have had an eye surgery or have been treated for an eye condition, your eye doctor probably is the best one to answer any questions you might have.
Furthermore, even if I had an opinion about an eye condition or treatment, I would be reluctant to pass on that information. It could conflict with what another eye doctor or surgeon advises or recommends, and then I could get in the middle of a heated discussion between a patient and doctor that I do not even know.
Many students use my site to find information for school assignments and science fair projects. Also, many teachers and instructors assign students specific passages to read and quizzes to take at my site. I have no connection whatsoever with any of the schools, colleges, or institutions of higher learning that refer to my site.
Therefore, I am not informed when such assignments to students are made. Moreover, I am not the one to ask how to go about completing such assignments, nor will I be able to assist students with their assignments or projects.
On occasion, I may answer very brief questions directed to me about the eye, vision, and certain eye-related conditions that are not specific to any given person. However, it often is extremely difficult, and even virtually impossible, for me to evaluate a problem simply from information described to me in an email and/or to make recommendations as to the best pathway to follow to obtain proper treatment.
A local doctor, preferrably an eye practitioner, is the first source you should use to obtain and interpret such information. If you have seen such a doctor but are not satisfied with what you have been told, then it is best to see another eye doctor locally rather than attempt to obtain another opinion from me.
