Windows XP User Alert

For many Windows XP users (with Service Pack 2), clicking on some of the links at this web site will result in the appearance of another window with this message at the top:

To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer....
You have my assurance that nothing at this website has any “active content” that can “access your computer.”  Javascript commands are used on some pages, and a few of those commands are flagged erroneously by the Windows XP program.

To prevent these error messages from appearing (when using the MSIE browser), it is recommended that you do the following:

  1. On your browser’s toolbar (at the top), click on Tools.
  2. In that list, click on Internet Options.
  3. Within the Internet Options window, click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Security (bottom) section.
  5. Click on the box to the left of the second item, “Allow active content to run in files on My Computer.”
After you have finished browsing through this website, you may wish to go back and reverse the status of item #5 above, since it is possible that other websites may have active content that can access your computer.

Thanks for visiting my website, where everything is free.  I hope you find at least a few of the topics interesting and informative.
